“Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed” (1 Timothy 6:17-19).

We believe that giving is an act of worship that helps shape us into Christ-likeness.  As disciples of Jesus we are joyfully committed to supporting the ministry that happens in and through the our local church.  We give generously so that the gospel can advance and our community can be blessed.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

We believe that one of our primary Christian identities is Servant. There’s no doubting that Jesus came to serve and has called his followers to do the same. In fact, the call to follow Jesus is more than finding opportunities to serve, it’s taking the posture of a servant in every area of life!

With this in mind, we’d be glad to have you serve with us! Serving is not only a way to respond in gratitude to God with our time and talents, it’s also a way that God uses to share our hearts into becoming more like his.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

1. Be faithful to attend and participate —  Commit yourself to the church and let them know they can count on you.

2. Commit yourself to love the Lord and your brethren —  The Bible teaches that all the desires of God are condensed into only two cardinal commandments that Jesus gave to His followers. He said, “...You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27).

3. Pray for your church, its pastors and leaders —  The Apostle Paul explained that it is the duty of Christians to pray for all who are in authority, especially those in spiritual authority. “I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Tim. 2:1-2).

4. Get to know your spiritual leaders and cooperate with them —  The more you get to know them and their Godly life-style, the more you will likely come to trust their leadership. You will have a greater credibility in their teaching and counsel (1 Thes. 5:12). Show respect and cooperate with their authority.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

HCIC is a Christ Centered Church committed preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and expanding the Kingdom of God. HCIC draws many newcomers from Ethiopia and Eretria. At HCIC we believe in providing a holistic ministry to people and we
as a new comer, ourselves, we understand the challenges of being in a new country, we support new comers with their physical, emotional and Spiritual needs.
Our church have moved through several rental church buildings as our  congregation continued to grow. Currently, we are renting a space at the Mennonite Brethren  Church of Manitoba’s building at 83 Henderson HWY and we are in the process of acquiring 1410 Main Street as a new meeting place.
It’s been a long journey and at times we’ve wanted to give up.  The financial burden has been hard on our small congregation, but the miracles we’ve witnessed, the timing of events and support we received so far – there is no doubt God has a plan for us and is leading us every step of the way.  Our next call is to raise $100,000 so we can make down payment for the building.
We cannot do this alone so we are asking for your help.
The building we are going to purchase has been used as a sports bar and a night club. In a time where churches buildings are being converted in to bars, pubs, and other secular use, this gives a unique opportunity to reverse the trend. We plead your support in redeeming the building for the glory of God. In addition, the building is in the impoverished location where many people struggling with addiction and many social issues. We are seeing this as a wonderful opportunity to create a place where the community and God can meet.
The objective of this Church Building Fund Campaign is to raise our down payment and to cover the renovation costs to make it suitable for Church use.
We ask that you become a part of this ministry by providing a charity donation in any amount that God puts on your heart. No amount is too small. Your prayers and financial support are greatly appreciated!
May the favor of the Lord be upon you!
